""Creation" basically means affection, I think."
He can read the expression of sound which producers created and express it as an image. We contacted @Masataka who is rumored to be able to visualize music.
Nice to meet you, please introduce yourself.
I'm @Masataka who produce Vocaloid PVs using MikuMikuDance (MMD) as I like. (with a smart expression)
Oh!!! Masataka-san!!!! (screaming)
(with a smarter expression)
Firstly, please tell us the reason why you started producing videos.
I was shocked to hear "Shiningray" featuring Hatsune Miku by 164 a lot and started making the video with feverish energy.
Is there anything you can't do without when making videos?
Of course it's MMD. And AfterEffects. Recently I'm using Cinema4D because I want to try 3CG on my own.

Have you ever felt defeated working on these tools? Also how do images you want to express come up to you?
I feel defeated each time. I've been making efforts to bring my work to what I want to do as close as possible lol.
I create images listening to the song and sprinkling "colors" in my brain, thinking "is this color suits this scene?" Doing this, I have become able to create rough images recently.
Miku is almost alive in my brain.

You have made live-action videos, too. Did you have any differences between live-action filming and operating Miku on MMD?
There's no wonder that live-action filming has less freedom in operating camera compared to MMD.
Also we can't retake the footage after filming. I can't say "let's do it again" whenever I want, regardless of day or night, when we film live-action movie lol.
All we have to do is just to type when working on MMD lol.
The great thing about MDD is that we can work anytime, as much as we want, until we get satisfied.
But I'd like to try live-action video someday in a way I can accept, of course.
Please tell us the most important thing for you when making videos.
Reproduction of the thumbnail picture of the original song is the most important. The reason is that I'd like to show my respect to producers of the song through the image on the video. Then I'd like them to allow me to make videos as I like. (For "Chaining Intention", I used the color of the thumbnail image.)

What makes you have a feeling for songs and their producers?
"Creation" basically means affection, I think. It doesn't matter if it's music, movies or anything given a shape.
The videos I make are derivative works so I have a strong feeling that I mustn't disappoint producers of original songs, with respect for their affection to their own works.
Please tell us the concept for "Chaining Intention".
Personally, I started working on "Chaining Intention" on a whim because I thought that I might be able to make an interesting video when I heard Treow's song. But I'd been longing to give shape to the phrase; "the birth and the disappearance of sound, then another birth of new sound" so I wanted to visualize the phenomenon in which so much music has been born since the birth of Hatsune Miku and Vocaloids until now.
But, to be honest, I mentioned the content of the concept for the first time because I used to think it depended on how the listener felt lol.
"Chaining Intention" triggered a major change of my concept for PV production.
Treow-san, you genius!
Regarding this video, what do you think about the synchronization of the sound and the images?
Unique sound is sprinkled so beautifully, so I put images on the sound. It's my image.
Regarding the scene where cubes explode, I made it in my own way remembering a news article about the grains which are always born out of nothing and disappear in the universe and thinking Hatsune Miku phenomenon (music which is born one after another) could be the same.

How did you determine vivid colors to use?
I think I can do it with "vivid sound".
Why did you use "Lat Formula Hatsune Miku"?
She's so cute! And she's got an expressive face.

Why did you take comical scenes and intro gimmick?
Being different from previous PVs, I made the intro with a sudden impression of "the music has already started!", instead of the images like "the music is starting from now on!", and we can translate it into "it's been moving around as a phenomenon like crazy!"
I often use Hachune Miku for comical scenes and the purpose is to prevent viewers from watching the video for 4 or 5 minutes at the same pace.

Is there anything impressive for you during your production of videos?
I always wonder why I was able to create such images after production.

Please tell us your future plans.
I'd like to challenge extending my range of expression a little, having fun as usual.
Also I'd like to work hard to become helpful in spreading Vocaloids to the world! (with MMD…)
Lastly, please give your message to all.
I do appreciate so many people who laugh and become moved to see my videos without getting disappointed with me who keeps tweeting rubbish on twitter or other SNSs.
Thank you very much for supporting @Masataka. Usually I'm too shy to say things like that, though…
Most of all, your support becomes my energy for making another video.
I'd like to do the best in my own way! (Dear Crypton, please distribute Masataka's PVs, I've got some more…)

Thank you very much!
